Comprehensive Development Vision for Arattupuzha Grama Panchayat

The beginnings of change are visible in all sectors of Arattupuzha Grama Panchayat. A comprehensive development vision is being planned to achieve the goals of improving the panchayat's infrastructure, productive sector, service sector, and the upliftment of underprivileged sections of society.

Overcoming Coastal Regulation Challenges

Geographically situated like an island between the sea and the backwaters, the panchayat spans 15 km in length and approximately 500 meters in width. The primary obstacle to the development activities of this panchayat is the complexity of the Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) rules. Despite being a densely populated area of fishermen, the restrictions of the Coastal Regulation Zone have created a situation where many projects cannot be undertaken and implemented.

Due to these hurdles, even the implementation of projects to provide land and housing for the homeless and landless has come to a standstill. Consequently, the Panchayat Governing Body has already initiated efforts to change the Coastal Regulation Zone status of Arattupuzha Grama Panchayat from Zone III-B to Zone III-A. The future journey will focus heavily on making continuous efforts toward achieving this goal.

Economic Upliftment and Social Welfare

• MGNREGS (Employment Guarantee Scheme): The implementation of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme has successfully boosted the financial growth of ordinary citizens, providing a strong economic foundation to the region. Efforts are underway to ensure 100 days of employment for all sections of people working in the employment guarantee sector of Arattupuzha Grama Panchayat.
• Targeted Welfare Funds: Transparency will be maintained in fund utilization and programs aimed at the upliftment and protection of children, the elderly, the destitute, the differently-abled, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and women, thereby creating a major transformation in this sector.
• Kudumbashree Mission & Women Empowerment: Emphasizing women's empowerment and self-reliant enterprises, this governing body will pay special attention during its tenure to ensure that the Kudumbashree Mission continues to function with high excellence. The governing body will also strive to implement the following projects more efficiently through Kudumbashree:
  • Palliative Care Project
  • Malinya Muktha Navakerala Project (Waste-Free New Kerala)
  • Digi Keralam 2.0 Project
  • Vijnana Keralam Project (Knowledge Kerala)

Tourism Potential and Sustainable Future

Our panchayat possesses immense potential in the tourism sector. Arattupuzha aims to launch backwater, beach, and adventure tourism in an excellent manner in the coming years, striving to become a crowning glory on the tourism maps of India and Kerala.

Our Ultimate Goal: To utilize public funds in a beneficial and effective manner for those who truly deserve it. The ultimate goal is to move forward with a development-oriented vision for every citizen—acting with accountability and dedication—to transform Arattupuzha into a lush, green panchayat rich in water resources and agricultural produce, without disrupting nature's ecological balance.
